This year, we’re honoured to present Mario Lefebvre as Honorary Patron of Le Week-end. In 2023, Mario received a diagnosis at the JGH that changed his life: multiple myeloma. Throughout his treatment, Mario leaned on the persistence that guided his career in the Quebec music industry, supporting artists like Roch Voisine, Gregory Charles, and Céline Dion. Last year, Mario won the Félix Award from the Association de l'industrie québécoise du disque, du spectacle et de la vidéo (ADISQ), celebrating his 50 years in music and entertainment and his key role in the industry.
Mario’s healthcare journey, which includes undergoing chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, and participating in a clinical research trial, demonstrates his commitment to fighting cancer with positivity and perseverance.
In Mario’s own words: “The JGH’s staff genuinely care about their patients. The incredible team at the Segal Cancer Centre are the reason I’m still alive.”
Since 2009, participants, supporters and sponsors like you have raised over $64 million from cancer fundraising events like this one to make a significant difference in the fight against cancer at the JGH’s world-renowned Segal Cancer Centre.
